- 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, celery, and bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 8 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
- In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread and white bread. Add the cooked vegetables and stir to combine.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together chicken broth, eggs, sage, thyme, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, and cayenne.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the bread mixture and stir until well combined. The mixture should be moist but not soupy.
- Transfer to prepared baking dish. Bake 40-45 minutes until golden brown on top and set in the center.

π‘ Pro Tip: Day-old cornbread is essential β fresh cornbread will turn mushy. Make your cornbread a day ahead and leave it out to dry.
